Snoop Dogg Performs In Lebanon - East Beirut

via latimes

International recording artist Snoop Dogg touched down in Lebanon and performed for thousands Thursday night at one of Lebanon's largest concert venues - the Beirut Forum.

Rap is huge in the Middle East so the enthusiastic crowd was an expected one - the last big rap star to perform the was 50 Cent in 2006. A month later a war between Hezbollah and Israel negatively affected Lebanon's economy, tourism and hot international acts.

Since then both have been slowly coming back to the region

The Doggfather hit the stage for 75 minutes, in a bright yellow jersey and did his part to bring peace and unity as he rapped, "East side!... West side!" running back and forth across the stage, then rapped, "Both sides!".

Reminiscent(not the same... just reminiscent) of Bob Marley at the One Love Peace Concert in '78 when he called for unity and invited the leaders of both opposing parties on stage(see video below).

No... Snoop's appearance is not going to solve that region's decades of political and economic problems, but as an artist, he's not running from them...'cause on some for real "ish"... he could have performed in Los Angeles at the "House Of Blues" or some other place that night.
