Syesha Mercado: Not Right for American Idol...Just Right for "Dreamgirls"

Syesha Mercado is getting ready star in the national tour of Dreamgirls as Deena Jones, the character made famous by Beyonce in the film of the same name.

Read how a Season 7 third-place finisher on American Idol, constantly told on the show she was too Broadway - worked her way through six months of auditions, got a callback and will be on the Apollo Theater stage when the musical opens this Sunday(the tour ends July 25 in Kansas City).
