"The Central Park Five" Documentary - Trailer
Thursday, November 15, 2012 This documentary is about one of the most horrific crimes in NYC! In 1989, A woman jogger was beaten and raped in Central Park. Five young Black and Latino men were accused of the crime. They were crucified in the media. Depicted as a gang of wild animals and much more! All five were imprisoned for almost 13 years before the real perpetrator (who was imprisoned for other crimes he committed around the same time) confessed to the crime. They were only guilty of being in the park at the wrong time. And that was no crime!
Director Ken Burns shows in "The Central Park Fives" there was never enough evidence to convict the young men. And he points out how several key officials don't do their jobs, and may have been responsible for the out come of the case from the very being.
Look for "The Central Park Fives" in limited theaters next weekend!
