Everyone's Talking About The Supermoon

Photo: Patrick T. FallonIn case you weren't able to see the much talked about Supermoon on May 5th/Cinco De Mayo, here are a few images that capture the lunar event in all of its glory.
The actual name is "perigee moon" and it describes a full Moon making its closest approach to Earth on it elliptical orbit. Because the Moon is closer to Earth it appears much larger and brighter.
