If you plan on attending the 2012 Olympic Games you'd better make arrangements to have pounds on hand.
ATMs are running out of cash as thousands descend upon the city and find themselves in need of cash. One of the biggest problems is tourists believing they can pay with euros or dollars - they can't. This is increasing the use of ATMs and they are emptying faster than normal.
Also, be aware that Visa has an exclusive sponsorship agreement with the Olympics and have arranged to only have Visa-only cash machines available.
