Vertu Hosts Pre-Oscars® Dinner with Wolfgang and Gelila Assefa Puck; Honors For Dream For Future Africa Foundation

Some of the A-list attendees were Pharrell, Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete, Vera Wang, Aiden Turner, Quincy Jones and Motown founder Berry Gordy.

The invited guest experienced the new touch-screen mobile phone, Constellation in the Vertu lounge.

Houston died suddenly on Saturday at a hotel in Los Angeles.

The SAG Awards were good on Sunday night, but the fashions were even better!

Among the best dressed of the evening were Viola Davis(in Marchesa), Octativa Spencer(in Tadashi Shoji), Amber Riley(in Badgley Mischka), Regina King(in Ferreti) and Sofia Vergara(in Marchesa).

Among the worst were... well... there's no need to point them out.

By now, they know they don't bring their A-game to the red carpet.

'The Help' Wins Best Ensemble at the SAG Awards

The SAG Awards aired live on Sunday night from Hollywood with a big surprise!
'The Help' won Best Ensemble over award shows favorite, 'The Artist.'
Viola Davis won for Best Actress and no surprise at DSE, Octativa Spencer won Best Supporting Actress.
Mary Tyler Moore was honored with SAG 48th Annual Life Time Achievement Award. 
I think we have some idea of what's going to happen at The Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 26th.

The 2012 Oscar Nominations Announced

On Tuesday morning, the Oscar nominees were announced with a few surprises and some disappointments in Hollywood.

Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo' lead with 11 nominations, followed by the black and white film about a silent film movie star, 'The Artist ' received 10 nominations and 'The Help' which received 4 nominations that included(and no surprise) Viola Davis for Best Actress, Octavia for Best Supporting Actress. 

The winners will be announced at 'The 84th Academy Awards' on Sunday, Feb. 26th at 8 pm on ABC.

The 43rd NAACP Image Award Nominations

The 43rd NAACP Image award nominations were announced on Thursday at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills(CA).

It's no surprise 'The Help' lead with eight nominations including Outstanding Motion picture, Writing, Directing, Best actor and Best Actress.

In television 'Grey Anatomy' and 'The Game' were each nominated in six categories.

Beyoncé and Jill Scott were honored with two nominations each in music.

The winners will be honored live at 8 pm on Friday, February 17th on NBC.

The 69th Golden Globe Awards aired lived on Sunday night from the Beverly Hilton(CA) on NBC.

Hosted by comedian/actor Ricky Gervais who played it safe all night.

His humor was pretty mild compared to late year.

Some of the big winners were 'The Descendant' Best Motion Picture - Drama, Martin Scorsese Best Director - 'Hugo', Idris Elba Best Actor - TV Movie/Miniseries... and Octavia Spencer(no surprise and well deserved) won for Best Supporting Actress - 'The Help'.

Morgan Freeman was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

On Thursday, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the Golden Globe nominees.

Some of the nominees were Voila Davis(The Help) Best Performance by An Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama, "The Help" for Best Motion Picture and "The Artist" for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical.

The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony will air on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 8 pm on NBC.

The 2012 Grammy Award Nominations Were Announced: Rapper/Producer Kanye West Leads With Seven

Rapper/Producer Kanye West.

The 54th Annual Grammy Award nominations were announced on Wednesday night at a live concert hosted by LLCoolJ in Los Angeles.

Rapper/producer Kanye West lead with seven nominations, followed by Foo Fighters, Adele and Bruno Mars with six nominations and Lil' Wayne had five.

The grammy awards will be presented to the winners on Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Los Angeles.

Nicki Minaj("Favorite Artist" and "Favorite Album"- "Pink Friday"), Usher("Favorite Male Artist") and Beyoncé("Favorite Female Artist") were among the top winners of the star-studded award show.

Rap Artist Wiz Khalifa won "Rap/Hip-Hip" award and Taylor Swift won top honor(and her third won of the night) for "Album of the Year."

Some of the top performers were Mary J Blige, Jennifer Lopez(she won an award for "Latin Music: Favorite Artist"), and Drake.

Director Steve McQueen(the only black director on the panel) was asked the question(which we've been asking for damn near a century), "why aren't there more black directors in Hollywood?"

"It's shameful that filmmakers live in America and won't cast more black actors," McQueen said.
