An iPhone 4s vs. Canon 5D MKII Video Comparison

Robino Films decided to test the new iPhone 4S's video capabilities against those of the Canon 5D MKII DSLR.

A side by side comparison was done to allow both cameras to capture the same video.

Although settings on the iPhone were fixed while the Canon's were adjustable the results will surprise you!

Sony A77 Camera Preview (Video)

Engadget recently previewed the long rumored Sony A77 and A65 cameras - successors to the A55 and A33.

This move was expected considering Nikon released the D7000, D3100 & D5100 while Canon introduced the T3i. All cameras were created to offer the lastest HD features, burst rates, improved auto-focus and feature set that entry-level consumers look for.

The A77 does appear larger than the lower models - this will be seen as a improvement by those who love the Sony A55's speed but felt it was too small.

No, the Sony won't compete directly with your Canon or Nikon(in terms of image sharpness), but it is catching up. (The Sony lineup is perfect if you are into sports photography or capturing lots of movement, shooting 12 fps(don't set your iso too high), it's auto-focus is one of the best, although Nikon comes close with the D5100 & D7000.)

Sony Introduces The SLT-A35 Camera

Sony's new SLT the Alpha 35. Say goodbye to the articulating screen.It's not the A-33 and it's definitely not the A-55 - the Sony A-35 sits somewhere in the middle and a little above its predecessors. 

The A-33 has been discontinued  and there's talk of an A-77 release really soon, so why the release of A-35? It has better battery life and faster performance, they've upped the MP to 16.2, added photo processing effects onboard and increased video time from 9 min. to 29 min.!

Yes it still does panoramas.

I guess Sony has to keep up with Nikon and Canon, each has released new cameras within the last few months (Nikon especially with their D3100, D7000 and D5100, Canon rolled out the T3i)

The A-35 will be available in August with pricing near $700. (Look for deals on the discontinued A-33 and A-55 - firmware updates for both have been announced).
