Camp Lo & Ski Beatz - "Fort Apache" EP

This set from Camp Lo and producer Ski Beatz(@skibeatz) sounds good. I've been waiting on "The Lo" for a minute so I have it on play. Geechi Suede and Sonny Cheeba don't miss a beat with their unique rhythmic flow. All that's missing is a "complete mixdown" for a bigger sound and we have half of the album here.

I didn't see this coming, but I'm glad it dropped when it did. Suede should be back from Paris right about now. "Hope you traveled safely and Bless Up!"

I fux with Camp Lo and that's word to Sidney Portier... and Pete Rock has been one of my all-time favorite producers.

I spoke briefly with Pete in Los Angeles at a music conference(talking about Green Street studio now being an art gallery)and he was the most down to earth brother.

That's why I'm glad to see Camp Lo and Pete Rock doing a new project with renewed energy in 2011.

The name "80 Blocks From Tiffany's" is from the classic 1979, Gary Weiss film based on the Bronx and its street organizations(it's now on DVD). While 80 blocks is the distance between Tiffany's jewelry store and the Bronx, listening to Sonny Cheeba and Geechie Suede shows there is no distance between this release and their debut release Uptown Saturday Night.

These dudes just don't lose it. If anything, they get better. Seriously.

DJ Honda has worked with a "who's who" of Hip-Hop artists.

You can never have too much Camp Lo(The Lo) in your life. The way Suede and Cheeba come up with their flows always struck me as creative and unique.

It's very hard to find anyone who rhymed as they do prior to their entrance on the rap scene... or after.
