CLAE Travels: Vietnam

"Travel is a big part of everything we do at CLAE. Whether for pleasure or work, travel fuels our creativity and always inspires. While on a recent bi-annual shoe development trip to Vietnam where we not only put the finishing touches on our A/W 2012 collection, but also prepared for the launch of Spring 2012, we made a short film that captures just a glimpse of the energy we experienced during our daily moped commute through the chaotic streets of Ho Chi Minh City."

Clae Tenth Year Anniversary

This was their even held at the end of July at the Hotel on Rivington. It was hosted by Modelo and LTD.

The event was exclusive, the weather was good and there was lots of Modelo to go around.

Clae was ahead of the curve, being one of the first companies to do the athleisure shoe. Although Supra did the vulcanized sole, their designs were more for skaters(for obvious reasons).

Clae's were another kind of cool.(If you've been reading the blog, you know we told you)

adidas Originals Shoe for David Beckham

These are adidas Originals by Originals James Bond for David Beckham. The shoes are an "interpretation" for the David Beckham Collection. (Whatever that means.)

adidas Originals collaborated with James Bond to create a shoe that could easily fit into the "athleisure" category.

Yes, they do look like Clae's, but, the have more of a boat shoe look going on in the toe box area.

It's my prediction that as 2010 progresses, we are going to see more shoes like these and less of the repetitive stuff we've been seeing.

Dam Funk 4 Clae - "Beautiful Music 4 Beautiful People" is a special mix done for the opening of Clae's shop-in-shop at Stussy in LA.

It was mixed in the Leimert Park section of Los Angeles using only wax pressings(vinyl records), no mp3 or downloads were used in the making of this mix.
