Producer Skywlkr is one of Danny Brown's confidants when it comes to music production. After heating up XXX for Danny, Skywlkr decided to release his own project songs recorded by artists using his own production over the last year.
Expect that "new" instrumental project later in 2012.
Check out this instrumental mixtape from the Detroit area native.
Pitchfork and director Eavvon O'Neal followed rapper Danny Brown(@xdannyxbrownx) to the city of Detroit to film him for a few days - we get to see him dealing with less than honest show promoters, meet is parents and brother, key members of his crew and sit in on a few sessions for various songs.
O'Neal does an excellent job of blending in to the point that you forget you're watching a produced film and watch Danny Brown as he deals with a variety of scenarios.
The scene at the Dilla Day Show is so poignant. As Danny deals with the conflict of supporting his hometown and feeling taken advantage of by a member of his hometown, the internal conflict becomes apparent. We get the feeling we are watching an important moment in time, captured on film - that Danny Brown will go on to do bigger and better things and this is only the beginning... and we were there.
Thank you Eavvon for including the moment they found out Whitney Houston passed away.
I'd like to see the footage on the cutting room floor. ~ Martin Cameron Smith/Digital Soul Experience
When you think of Detroit a few things come to mind: Motown Records, J Dilla, The Pistons, GM, Eminem, T-Baby and her song "It's So Cold In The D". Okay, maybe you don't think of T-Baby before you think of Anita Baker, but you get my point. Detroit is a town that creates strong artists and produces great products. One product of Detroit who also happens to be a great artist is Kem.
With the November 30th release of his sophomore album, Break Something fast approaching, Houston native hasHBrown decided to drop a little something to hold fans over.
Detroit's own Guilty Simpson(J Dilla affiliate) is featured on the track as well.
The Jeep Wrangler is featured in the popular new video game release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and it will also be available for purchase at your local Jeep dealership.
The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited based on the Rubicon trim package, but will include the Call of Duty:MW3" logo on key spots of the vehicle."
Expect it to sell in the mid $30k to lower $40k range.
