El Michels Affair did "Enter The 37th Chamber", which was an instrumental album, consisting of re-workings of the Wu-Tang Clan's, "Enter The Wu (36 Chambers)" by the outfit.
Now El Michels Affair's album gets a re-working. URB.com., Fat Beats and Audible Treats team up to put dope emcees over dope beats, hence, Enter The 38th Chamber.
I can't be sure, but, that remix to 'Make It Clear" sounds like some good chops on Sly Stone's "It's A Family Affair"... anyway... listening to the way the vocals are delivered and the production of the track pushes the emcees along, this sounds like a modern classic.
With the two emcee, one DJ (who rhymes) dynamic, many will compare them to Slum Village, but, Diamond District reminds me of groups like Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth, Brand Nubian and The Dogg Pound.
They have great chemistry and you find yourself not only listening to what they say, but, the slick ways they deliver the rhymes. Each delivery is different, yet, they fit well together.
