"Fat Kid Rules The World" Premieres at SXSW Film Festival

Actor Matthew Lillard will make his directorial debut with "Fat Kid Rules The World" at the SXSW Film Festival.

A comedy film about an overweight kid who meets a high school dropout-musician with a drug problem.

He starts a punk band and convinces the fat kid to be the drummer.

The screenplay was written by Michael "M.B." Galvin and Peter Speakman, adapted from the K.L. Going novel of the same name.

His film premieres on Friday(March 9th) at 6:15 pm at the Alamo Lamar A Theater.

"Good Deeds" Movie Trailer - Opens February 24th

"Good Deeds" explores the subject matter of the haves and the have-nots.

The romantic comedy unfolds when businessman Wesley Deeds discovers the daughter of Lindsay Wakefield(cleaning crew employee) in a closet of his office building.

His encounter with Wakefield helps him to realize his successful live and career was structured long before he was born.

It was written and directed by Tyler Perry and stars Gabriel Union, Thandie Newton, Phylicia Rashad and Tyler Perry as Wesley Deeds.

Look for Perry's latest film in theaters on Feb. 24th.

Filmmaker Josh Fox Arrested on Capital Hill

Director Josh Fox was arrested and charged on Wednesday morning for Unlawful Entry on Capitol Hill.

Fox attempted to film a House of Science Committee Hearing on fracking(hydraulic fracturing), according to Politico.

He was led out of the hearing in handcuffs by Capitol Police.

He shouted, "I'm within my First Amendment rights, and I'm being taken out."

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker is best known for his award winning documentary "Gasland."

REWIND: "Buck and the Preacher" Movie Trailer - 1972 Western

Buck and the Preacher was a western starring actors Sidney Poitier(Buck), Harry Belafonté(the con-man preacher) and Ruby Dee(Ruth).

This was Poitier's directorial debut film.

Columbia Pictures released it on March 17, 1972 in West Germany, and  in New York City on April 28, 1972.
