The full length album features Ayah on vocals with DJ Jazzy Jeff handling production duties.
If you're not familiar with Ayah, this is a good time to start. I recently listened to some tracks of hers... as a singer she uses a wide range of style in her vocal approach. She's able to strengthen her voice and apply full vibrato or she can switch up, change her enunciation give you a really sweet soulful, street influenced sound with a hint of church(think Chaka Khan). Really experienced singer.
Jeff's production on this is progressive. He's not repeating himself - trying to create the next Jill Scott. You get the feeling this project is their own, less of an afterthought.
I've spent time writing and producing music in Philly with Carvin and Ivan, conversed with Kenny Gamble, so I have an appreciation for what Philly brings to the music game and Jeff's role in that is chief architect. If it's movin' in Philly, Jeff's fingerprints are on it.
With Back For More, Jeff continues to build on that legacy.
