Coachella 2012: Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre ft. Tupac Hologram - "Hail Mary" & "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted"

The Tupac hologram performance from Coachella was impressive, weird, but impressive. My favorite part was at between the 3:33 - 4:00 marks where the hologram reminds me the most of Tupacs movements. He and Snoop Dogg appear to be trading verses and you actually forget Snoop is up there by himself.

Video: Kendrick Lamar - "A.D.H.D."

Kendrick drops this vid from his #Section80 album, available at iTunes.

If you've noticed they aren't giving the music away, it's something you can expect to see more from other artists.

Sales and free downloads are not the same thing.

Video: Kendrick Lamar's West Coast Coronation

Bobby Rocwell of Dudegot.com captured great video of the West Coast rap hierarchy publicly accepting and endorsing Top Dawg Entertainment and Compton's Kendrick Lamar as part of their "Hip-Hop monarchy".

The Game, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Kurupt were in the house... even Mos Def touched the stage to make it known he was in the building.

Definitely a historical Hip-Hop moment supported by all... West, East, Southeast and Midwest and Southwest.

Can The D.O.C. Revive the Detox Album?

The D.O.C.. Photo: Brandon ShowersThe D.O.C. was one of the first artists to come out of the Ruthless Records fold with instant star quality and talent to match. While his early success can attributed to his association with Dr. Dre and N.W.A., there is no argument when the conversation turns his own musical contributions, Tracy Curry injected quality into many of the songs he has either produced, written or consulted on - the man makes songs better.

For years he has worked with Dr. Dre sporadically as an "associate producer" on many songs.

Without the D.O.C. many of those early Death Row Records productions might not have sounded so lyrically polished and conceptually complete... or the later Aftermath output.

Find out what he's been doing, why he and Dre parted ways for a bit and what he expects from Detox now that he is back...

Dr. Dre Listens to Tito Lopez Freestyle... and Likes It

Tito Lopez introduces himself to Dr. Dre and the rest is... history.

For the next year you will hear people make all kinds of references to this meeting, Dre's drink, Stat Quo being in the room and random verses from Tito Lopez's freestyle. Some will even say they were in the room.

It's called "crowding the winners circle".

Just know that it will happen.

Congrats Tito, you're off to a good start at the next level.

Kendrick Lamar at Southpaw - Brooklyn, NYC

Compton emcee and Dr. Dre associate, Kendrick Lamar touched down in BK on Friday night(6/17/11)and gave a "Hiii Powered" show at Southpaw. With all of the cameras there, I hope someone documented the impact he had on that room.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Kendrick is the 21st century emcee, able to transcend regional identity in ways others have not. I predict we will see even more of this in other music genres as the internet and widening tastes influence artistic expression.

Shouts to Top Dawg Entertainment.

That said, watch Kendrick Lamar burn Southpaw down:

Kendrick Lamar performing "She Needs Me".

You can see Kendrick lost the hoodie when it was time to do "Hiii Power"

Kendrick does "Cut You Off(To Grow Closer)"
