The first waves have come to shore in Hawaii. Because the first waves are not the strongest it is difficult to measure. It's also too dark to visually read.

Waves are being measured by instrument readings.

The last wave measured was at six-feet.  Waves are 15 minutes apart

Since CBS has started shooting an updated version of the classic "Hawaii Five-O" TV series, tourism on the island of Hawaii has increased.

Other filming projects have given the state's ailing tourist industry a boost as well.

Car Registered to Kanye West Crashes Into House in Hawaii

A car registered to Kanye West crashed into a house in Hawaii.

The rapper/producer has been living on the island of Diamond Head, while recording his newest album, Good Ass Job.

Three men were riding in a Porsche Panamera on Hibiscus Drive when they crashed the car into the wall of a house being renovated. They were seen running away from the scene of the accident.

The car was later reported stolen after the accident.

Next "Pirates" FIlm to Be Shot In Hawaii

The next film in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, the fourth, will be filmed in Hawaii this summer.

The film will be released in 2011, most likely a Memorial Day or Fourth of July release.

Shooting will be on the islands of Oahu and Kauai and is expected to generate $85 million in spending while the production is there. This comes at a time when Hawaii's economy is suffering from a major drop in tourism.
