The animated film "Rise Of The Guardians" screened on Wednesday at Cannes Film Festival in France. A movie about the Boogieman who launches an assault on the planet Earth. Several mythic heroes team up to stop him. It's stars Chris Pines, Alex Baldwin, Isla Fisher and Hugh Jackman as the voice of "E. Aster Bunnymund." Directed by Peter Ramsey.

Look this holiday film to open in theaters on November 21st.

A Pierre Ballenegger film: New York City in February

Film makers Pierre Ballenegger and Michael Zgraggen shot footage of various locales around New York City - Roosevelt Island, Manhattan and Brooklyn.

They took to the streets of Gotham with a Nikon 7000, edited, synched up the song "Stand Bye"(Eric Lau) and the final product is available for your viewing pleasure... if you would kindly press play above.

Tribeca Film Festival '12: "2 Days In New YorK"

"2 Days In New York" is a comedy directed by Julie Delpy starring Chris Rock and Julie Delpy showing at the TFF.

A French photographer Marion(Delpy) and her radio host boyfriend Mingus(Rock) who lives as a couple with their kids in a New York City apartment. The story unfolds when Marion's relatives comes to visit unannounced. Mingus struggles to stay sane during the two day visit.

Screenplay written by Julie Delpy and Alex and Nahon.

ReelWorld Film Festival: Video Music Night - Kardinal Offishall Debuts "The Invention of Truth" On Friday, April 13th

Recording artist Kardinal Offishall will debut his short film "The Invention of the Truth" on Video Music Night at ReelWorld Film Festival on Friday, April 13th at Famous Players Canada Square(Canada). Followed by a Q&A with the talented rapper/producer and filmmaker. Moderated by Director RT.

The media reception starts at 7:45 pm followed by the screening of the film at 8:30 pm.

Movie Trailer: "Gimme The Loot" at SXSW Film Festival

On Tuesday, "Gimme The Loot" won Grand Jury Prize for Narrative Movie at SXSW.

A feature film about two young streetwise graffiti writers(Tysheeb Hickson and Tashiana R. Washington) from the Bronx who want news worthy revenge when a rival gang buffs a replica of their work(the NY Mets home run apple).  

The crime/drama takes place over two days in the middle of a NYC heatwave.

This is director/writer Adam Leon's first feature.

Feature Documentary Trailer: "Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth"

"Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth" is a feature documentary about novelist Alice Walker.

Through great visuals of nature and black and white photos we learn more about her journey as an author, poet and political activist as it's told from actor/activist Danny Glover, political activist/scholar and author Angela Davis, Walker and others.

This insightful documentary was directed by Pratibha Parmar.

It's expected in theaters in 2012.

In 1982, Walker won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for her novel "The Color Purple".

The book was later turned into a film of the same name directed by Steven Spielberg.

"Napoleon Dynamite" - The Animated Series Trailer

The "Napoleon Dynamite" animation TV series is based on the independent film of the same name.

An unusual teenager(Jon Heder as Napolean Dynamite) with a bizzare family who lives somewhere in the mid-west.

The entire original cast is back along with a few new cast member, who'll be introduced in the comedy.

Two episodes will premiere on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm on FOX.

Hilarious film(2004)... and I'm sure the cartoon will be just as funny!

Nelson George - Toronto Film Festival - Discussing Brooklyn Boheme

Filmmaker Nelson George discusses Brooklyn Boheme, the changes Brooklyn has experienced since the 90's and possible reasons for the latest demographic shifts within the borough.

I spent so much time in Brooklyn during the 90's that it is still difficult to embrace how much it has changed since then, the same with parts  of Far Rockaway Queens, the Bronx and Newark, NJ.

That gentrification is real.

"Brooklyn Boheme" is a documentary about the artistic communities of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill during the 80's and 90's in Brooklyn(NY).

Narrated and written by Fort Greene resident Nelson George.

George introduces us to the Brooklyn neighborhoods where young ambitious African-American filmmakers, comedians, actors and musicians lived and elevated their crafts to the highest levels and achieved success.

Sundance '12 Announces Feature and Documentary Premieres

Sundance Film Festival has announced their 2012 dates for feature film and documentary premieres.

You can look forward to seeing Spike Lee's lastest film "Red Hook Summer"(screenwriter James McBride) and the documentary "About Face"(directed by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders) premiering at this year's festival. 

The festival will officially open on Thursday, January 19th and close on 29th in Park City, Utah.

"Soul Food Junkies" Teaser - A Film by Byron Hurt

Filmmaker Byron Hurt has done it again with his new documentary "Soul Food Junkies".

In this film he examines soul food and why it's loved by so many. He also points out some of the health issues that come with the love of eating southern-style recipes.
