Jesse Boykins III, R&B in Mixtape, Music Monday, March 14, 2011 The multi-talented and self-made, Jesse Boykins III, releases his latest video - a cover of Andre Benjamin's "Prototype". I've heard him do this one with a live band and he adds genuine feeling to the song.
The production on this one is tight, especially the piano work towards the end playing a melody reminiscent of "Summer Breeze".
The Dr. WooArt directed video fits the song perfectly, while adding that natural Brooklyn element.
Speaking of Brooklyn... I recognize that rehearsal space. I saw Derrick Ashong with Lee Hawkins in there(check out my post).
