Delta and Coke Hotspot - NY, Meatpacking District

While in the Meatpacking District a few weeks ago I took some pics of the happenings.

I came across the Delta + Coke Hotspot, a lounge outside of The Hotel Gansevoort (south of W. 14th St.) where they were handing out free samples of Coca-Cola soda, in red metal bottles.

Inside The Standard Grill...Under The High Line

via nytimes

Take a look at the inside of The Standard Grill and read a NYT review that will prepare you for you first gastronomic experience at this Meatpacking District hot spot.

The restaurant which has a 100 seat room, with another 100 seat antechamber and 85 seats on the sidewalk is tucked under the newly opened High Line - next to the much talked about, Standard Hotel.

It can be noisy, crowded yet, look really inviting any time of the day or night if you are on Washington St. near 13th...trust me...that's why I'm writing this piece.

NYC Prosecutors Believe Actor Michael Douglas' Son Dealt Meth

Michael Douglas and son Cameron Douglas

Cameron Douglas, son of actor Michael Douglas, was arrested July 31st at the trendy Hotel Gansevoort (which was blogged about here a few weeks ago) and accused of traveling coast to coast dealing large quantities of methamphetamine.

Ouch!

A complaint in federal court alleges he was paid tens of thousands of dollars trafficking the drug since 2006. Drugs and cash were routinely exchanged through shippers like FedEx.

The case against him is based on information provided by 3 meth dealers and users. One of the users is said to have once worked for Cameron Douglas.

This case involves the shipping of cash and drugs, secretly recorded wiretapped phone conversations and bugged hotel rooms.

His arrest appears to be connected to a cooperator's recorded conversations during June and July of this year.

At this time, it's not clear whether he is being held.

Their case against him doesn't look too strong.
