Michael Jackson, Happy Birthday

Decided to post a few things that we think about when we think of Mike at Digital Soul Experience.

Michael Jackson was one of the greatest entertainers and performers, not only in America, but the world. He set the standard for many to follow. What made him so great was that he studied the contributions of others like Sammy Davis Jr., James Brown and Jackie Wilson, to name a few.

He was a talented songwriter, a shrewd businessman and one of the biggest humanitarians.

Michael Jackson: "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" Demo w/ Quincy Jones Commentary

This is the demo version of Don't Stop Til You Get Enough performed by Michael, Janet and Randy in their home studio. They had also recorded a demo of "Workin' Day and Night".

The demo shows Michael's understanding of melody and arrangement. Although the words are unintelligible in the final version (as they are in the demo), the song is diminished in no way. He created a great melody for the music from the beginning.

This demo also speaks to the degree of talent the family had and that they worked together, using their talents to help each other succeed("Day and Night" and "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" were two of Michael Jacksons biggest hits).

Once the strings and horn arrangements were added, then instruments replayed by some of Los Angeles' best musicians the song transformed into the song we now know today.

Michael Jackson's Mother Cleans House

Michael Jackson's mother Katherine has told 4 of her grandchildren and the mother of 2 of them, they must move out of the San Fernando Valley estate next week.

Because, supervising 7 kids is just too much for a 79-year-old woman.

This was prompted by the stun gun incident, that happened last month.

Michael Jackson Estate Signs Historic Deal with Sony Music

Michael Jackson's estate entered into a 7 year distribution deal with Sony Music Entertainment that will see the release of 10 new Michael Jackson projects - unreleased songs, performance DVD's, documentaries and the re-release of his classic albums with outtakes, never seen photos and new cover art.

The deal is valued to be in the range of $250 million and is considered to be a landmark deal by Rob Stringer, chairman of the Columbia Epic. The deal is unique because it is multimedia - films, TV, recording, video games and future formats that are yet to exist.

This is the ultimate exclusive-licensing deal!
