Video: G.O.O.D. Music SXSW 2011 Showcase | Mos Def - "Intro/Oh No"

Vevo and G.O.O.D. Music have finally made the video from SXSW 2011 available and I see why they've waited so long.

This is not the disposable type of performance footage we might be used to or your "run of the mill" talent showcase. This was done like a concert.

Mos goes in from the first bar and reminds you how Hip-Hop he is.

Gorillaz ft. Mos Def & Bobby Womack Perform "Stylo" on Jools Holland

You remember when I hit you with the video, now it's the live performance.

Where else would Mos Def and Bobby Womack collaborate?

Video: Gorillaz ft. Mos Def - "Stylo"

Gorillaz featuring Mos Def and Bobby Womack.

Nice video. On some high concept sh%t!

Great editing, sound effects, visual effects, story line and some fly old school Chevy cars. Check the paint job on Bruce Willis' car(an El Camino, while the Gorillaz are in a late 60's Camaro.)

This is that new decade ish. It's old and new - old in that it has the Kraftwerk digi-electronic feel and early 80's Euro vocals, but, new with Mos Def's rapping, Bobby Womack's riffs and the slick arrangements.

Fresh!

In The Studio With Mos Def

Mos is shown doing work on the Ecstatic at Los Angeles' Record Plant( south of Sunset Blvd.).

It's good to visually see him in Hollywood able to focus on music and film. Some cats cannot do both!(Trust me... they can't) He can.

Congrats on the Grammy nominations Flaco.

Global Vision Studio is doing their thing! Keep it up!

The Cool Kids and Mos Def @ DD172 & NYC: Friday The 13th

These excerpts look like something that is history in the making.

I don't know if Dame Dash is trying to discover the next Jay-Z, but, he has quite possibly discovered the new Dame Dash. This is the rebirth, if you will, of a creative arranger, shaping and molding talents. Creating and environment for experimentation and expression.

Word.
