Beach fees on the Rise in New York and New Jersey

via abc

If you plan to visit the Jersey Shore or some of the New York beaches this Summer, expect to pay more for parking. But, if you choose to walk or ride your bike you won't be charged. All fees will go toward general maintenance.

Riding a bike or walking to the beach may not be a bad idea. You'll save money... and get some exercise!

REWIND: Brand Nubian - "Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down"

Grand Puba, Lord Jamar(@LordJamar) and Sadat X(@SadatX) are left out of too many conversations about quality Hip Hop groups. Their style was musical in that their approach was like that of skilled musicians - they elevated rap.

They were rhythmic, they'd speed up or slow down to create new rhythms against the track. Being able to "flow" at that time was newer technique only displayed by the talented. Where most rappers were content staying on time with the kick and the snare, all three members of the group were able to equally adjust their speed to prove it was THEY who controlled the time, not the track - much like a skilled musicians(think George Benson).

Their technique was advanced, their rhymes were witty, and they weren't a gimmick. They along with a few others were pioneers of what is now called swag. Drake does it, Kanye West does it. Brand Nubian always blended the proper amount of cool, energy, lessons(degrees) and showmanship. Thank you fellas.

Peace to the G-O-D s.

NYFW Fall '12: The Donna Karan Runway Show

The classic tailored look was a big look at NYFW and the Donna Karan collection was no exception.

Her collection was classic-chic!

The wool fitted coat and single-breasted jacket in red worn with slim pants and crisp shirt, and the unstructured dresses were all runway hits.

NYFW Fall '12: Marc Jacobs Full Runway Show

The Marc Jacob Fall '12 runway show was a bit theatrical.

It reminded me of a Tim Burton film("Alice In Wonderland," "The Chocolate Factory," "Sweeny Todd," you pick) which was a cool idea, but the collection had a dowdy vibe.

The runway hits were some of the hats and the baby pink double-breasted coat.

In 2011, Los Angeles lost television shoots because of more competition from New York, but feature film production slowly increased.

Film production increased due to their state's tax credit program, according to FilmL.A., Inc.

Filmmakers can receive tax credit up to 25% of production in certain areas.

Some of the feature films approved for the program last year included "Gangster Squad", "Argo", and "This is 40".

Commercials shot on location increased from the year before, setting a new annual record for the region.
