He mentions historic locations they would shop like Albee Square Mall in Brooklyn, 125th Street in Harlem and 145th Street, in Harlem also.

In case you miss it, Rae is saying New Balance played a major role, aesthetically, during his years as an artist on the come up. It was tradition that lead him to choose the shoe and he sees no reason to break with it.

The original Only Built For Cuban Linx cassette is called "The Purple Tape" because Raekwon wanted his cassette and case tinted purple, making it easier to distinguish from other tapes, much in the same way street dealers did their product... it worked.

The first extravaganza will be tomorrow night at Santos Party House at 86 Lafayette Street and it will be hosted by everybody's dude...P. Diddy! (I told you cats that P. Diddy/Rae connection was a good idea, but, some of you don't listen).

Also appearing at the party will be host, Peter Rosenberg of NYC Hot 97, Busta Rhymes, Ghostface, Method Man, Beanie Sigel, Talib Kweli, Slick Rick, Lyfe Jennings and a couple of other surprise appearances. Music by DJ Kid Capri.

The ticket for this one is $50.

That may seem like a lot, but, for what might go down...you need to get you as% there! That's a lot of star power for fifty bucks! Could be historic.
