If this reminds you of Chic's "Good Times", it's no accident. According to Bernard Edwards, Queen bassist, John Deacon, had been spending time in the studio with the hitmaking group.
The Rolling Stones display many of their Blues influences on this song - the loping bass line, the blues harmonica, the "soulful" style of singing on the lead vocal and the guitar work.
One of the few Rock groups to celebrate African American music... openly.
"The Green Screening video for "See Clear" was taped during the CMJ Festival last October in Brooklyn, NY. Rhodes of Lightouts had this to say about the experience:
"Director Drew Norton shot over 20 bands in 7 days at Seaside Studios in Brooklyn. We were actually the first band in, which end up being lucky, because the studio was small and super hot. By the end of the shoot it had developed an unappealing aroma. Still, it was amazing to be part of such a ambitious project."
Lighouts is definitely a band in my playlist. ~ Martin C. Smith
Indie-rock outfit 1,2,3 participated in the Green Screening project, where various musicians play a live set in front of Green Screens and various backgrounds are applied.
So many artists participated in this event that it will take most of this year for all of the videos to come out.
Brooklyn rock outfit, Soft Black elected to participate in the Green Screening project created by director Drew Norton.
In short, Norton rented out a space in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, during October's 2010 CMJ Music Marathon and invited indie artists to come shoot videos on a green screen set... free of charge. He would later superimpose a setting in the background.
When done, 28 different artist stopped by Norton's Seaside Lounge Studios to shoot videos and be a part of a daring new venture(Tanya Morgan was there!!).
