Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting 2010

If you listen to the voices as the video plays, they say they waited 8 hours to see the lighting of the tree.

I'm all for holiday spirit, but, that's about 7 hours and 30 minutes too long for me... well, maybe just 7 hours.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Nov. 30th

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place this Tuesday, November 30th.

Ceremony begins at 7PM and ends at 9PM.

If you are going to visit New York City, you should go down and check it out. I'm not completely sure, but, it might rain that day - check the weather.

The lighting ceremony for the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree takes place Tuesday, November 30 at 7 PM.

The televised portion of the broadcast begins at 8PM on NBC while the actual lighting happens at 8:55 PM.

Could Be The Last Month of Free Wi-Fi at Rockefeller Center

SyFy has been responsible for providing free Wi-Fi service in and around Rockefeller Center between 49th and 50th Streets, bordered by 5th Ave.

The dates for free service(sponsored by SyFy) are July 2009-July 2010. If you're using Wi-Fi in this area, you'd better be ready for it to get a little harder to get a signal after July 1.

Fortunately, the area is full of other Wi-Fi options and Hotspots.

If you are in the New York City area, make sure you get down to Rockefeller Center to see the tree, watch the ice skaters, window shop or vibe with the crowd. It'll definitely put you in the holiday spirit!

Make sure you don't wait until the New Year, because it will be crowded and foot traffic will be cordoned off, allowed to flow one way.

This means, if you walk past something and want to get a better look, you'd better keep it moving, because they're not letting you walk back!

The 77th Tree-Lighting Ceremony In Rockefeller Center

The annual tree-lighting ceremony took place at Rockefeller Center, Wednesday night on NBC.

Over 100,000 people watched while the 76ft Norway spruce (draped in 30,000 LED lights) was lit in New York City.

Mayor Bloomberg was among the invited guests. Featured performers were Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Rob Thomas, Shakira, Michael Buble and the Roots.

The tree will be lit:

Daily 5:30 a.m.- 11:30 p.m.

until January 7, 2010.

Christmas Day 24 hours

New Year's Day 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

NY: Free Wi-Fi in Rockefeller Center Area

In case you didn't know, free Wi-Fi service is available in and around the Rockefeller Center area until the Summer.

So if you're on your laptop or using your smartphone to do a large download, you might want to use the Sy Fy network's Wi-Fi connection.

The area covered is 5th Ave. between W. 49th and W. 50th Streets (see above graphic)

Flo Rida - NBC The Today Show - Rockefeller Plaza - Friday, August 14th 7AM

Flo Rida will perform live on NBC's The Today Show as part of the 2009 Toyota Concert Series. The live performance will take place in New York's Rockefeller Plaza.

Flo Rida will hit the stage at 7:00am, but, fans and visitors are asked to arrive by 6:00am for best viewing.

The exact location is 49th Street and Rockefeller Plaza, outside Today's window-on-the-world studio.

If you're in the city on vacation or going to be near that area at 6:00am, you might want to check out a free concert. First come, first serve basis.
