The Instagram Socialmatic Camera
Instagram as a mobile software does a great job of applying filters to photos and making them appear retouched.
Until now the images in the App have been confined to mobile devices, but that is coming to an end with the release of the Instagram Socialmatic Camera. Instagram is in the process of making the virtual the real.

Friday, April 27, 2012 The first US shuttle ever built was flown from Washington, D.C. atop a 747 jet and to New York City.
Before it landed the plane circled lower Manhattan to allow spectators a glimpse of the craft, most viewed it from the city's west side, along the Hudson River.
Today's flight was the shuttle's final "flight". It landed at JFK Airport.

Thursday, April 26, 2012 Filmmaker Nelson George(@nelsongeorge) has done it again with "All Hail the Beat!" An incredible short documentary about the Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer drum machine, one of the first programmable machines.
The TR-808 was used to produce drum sounds for classic rap, r&b or techno songs(Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" and Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock"). The drum machine's sounds were so popular that even as samplers came into vogue, producers simply sampled the sounds from the unit and worked with them. Those sounds are used to produce beats heard in today's music.
This film was directed by Nelson George, and was part of the Focus Forward series(@FocusFwdFilms) for Tribeca Flim Festival '12.

In move that many saw coming, states are considering removing laws that make it a right to have land-line telephone service.
With the prices of mobile phones dropping and the use/purchasing of them increasing it has become less necessary to have a land-line in some homes.
Some states have already ended the requirement.

Next month AT&T will make the Nokia Lumia 900, a 4G, Windows Phone, available for $99.99(with a 2 year contract), April 8th.
In case you aren't aware, this is where Windows makes its move to muscle into the smartphone market, hoping to compete then surpass Apple(iOS) and Google(Android) operating software. While there is a market for such a product, Windows will have to convince consumers to drop the familar and take a chance with the unknown - that's where the $99.99 price tag comes in.
