Occupy Wall Street Protesters Arrested

On Saturday, at least 50 Occupy Wall Street protesters were arrested in New York City.

The protesters marched and climbed or crawled under the fence of an Episcopal Church-owned lot.

They wanted to used the area as a campsite.

It's the second story on the video.

This morning at 1:12 AM (ET) the unoccupation of Zucotti Park by the NYD began. Streets were blocked off, police with riot shields and batons moved in, the people's library was dismantled along with their kitchen and people were arrested.

This month marked the two month anniversary of the occupation of Occupy Wall Street.

Police are saying they need to clean the park and it is neccessary to move the people in order to clean the area and forcibly remove property.

Fewer Floor Traders Seen at New York Stock Exchange

In the past floor traders were synonymous with the New York Stock Exchange.

If you've seen a picture of the NYSE, you've either seen a photo of the buildings exterior, the ringing of the opening bell or the floor traders - trading at a frenetic pace.

Wonder why the numbers are dwindling?

NYC: Tour the New 9/11 Site

See the plans for the new World Trade Center site.

I'm going to reserve my analysis and commentary for another time, but I will say, once this project is completed we will really see what the development of Lower Manhattan looks like.

What we've seen is nothing compared to what we will.

Cannes Film Festival: "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps"

via today

The official screening of "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps"(directed by Oliver Stone), was Friday at Cannes Film Festival in France.

Michael Douglas plays Gordan Gekko(a role he played 23 years ago).

He's a broken ex-con, who spent a decade in prison and supports himself with a book tour and lectures.

Shia LeBeuof plays Jacob Moore, Gekko daughter's boyfriend (daughter wasn't seen in the original movie).

He's a furtive, hot-shot broker... and idealist.

Oliver Stone... Back On Wall Street - Shooting For Sequel Begins

Oliver Stone in front of the Federal Reserve Bank

Oliver Stone is in the Wall Street area getting ready to shoot the sequel to "Wall Street", this one titled, "Wall Street 2"(yeah...I know).

In the original, Stone had no intention on glorifying Wall Street or it's greed, but, ironically, his film is responsible for creating the glamour associated with all of the above and working in the financial district. Let's be honest...the Gordon Gekko character became the role model and ambassador for greed, with his, "Greed is good" mantra.

Though unintentional, it created characters who would come to personify many of the flaws we see in the financial sector throughout the world, but in a celebratory sense. For this reason, he felt it was time to do the film he had been trying not to do... to capture the truth.

His aim is to examine the role of the Federal Reserve and the culture of excess that created the Wall Street we see today.
