Wal-Mart to Scale Back Hours at 24-Hour Locations

Wal-Mart the nation's largest retailer will be cutting the hours of many of their 24-hour locations as a way of lowering their overhead.

Looks like Wal-Mart doesn't feel the overnight dollar is worth the work.

Retailers Going High-Tech to Fight Shoplifting Teams

Stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Lowes and Home Depot are gearing up to fight sophisticated shoplifting teams with sophisticated technology.

Because crime rings are hitting multiple stores in a single day and using strategies most stores can't pick up for months, the need to do their own surveillance and investigations - some even have their own crime labs - has increased.

Find out why Walgreens, Toys R' Us and other retailers have taken it upon themselves to gather their own information to assist the police in establish and locate the players in these elaborate crime rings.

Walmart to Discount Flat Screen TVs Beginning Saturday; Prices Falling

In a move that may speed up the current trend of falling TV prices, Walmart has decided to lower the prices of many of their LCD & flat-screen televisions by $100-$200.

This may create competition among retailers which means lower prices for all interested in buying that new set during the holidays.

Walmart to Offer $45 Phone Plans with Unlimited Talk and Text

Beginning September 20, Walmart will roll out a new cellular service called Walmart Family Mobile.

The plan offers unlimited talk and text for $45 a month, with no contract. You have to pay more if you want to use the Internet.

Unlike their other plans, this one won't require you to pay in advance and you get additional phones added for $25.

Verizon's Straight Talk is being done in conjunction with Verizon, while Walmart Family Mobile will use T-Mobile service.

Sony has decided to cut the price on their slim PlayStation 3, now Microsoft might be doing the same with their Xbox 360 Elite.
