Freedom Sister's Exhibit Opens Feb. 4th at Shabazz Center in New York
Saturday, February 4, 2012 The Freedom Sister's Exhibit honors Mary McLeod-Bethume(1835-1955), Harriet Tubman(1820-1913), Sonia, Sanchez(1934-), Ella J. Baker(1903-1986), C. Delores Tucker(1927-2005), Constance Baker-Motley(1921-2005), Fannie Lou Hamer(1917-1977), Shirley Chisholm(1924-2005), Ida B. Wells(1862-1931), Mary Church Terrell(1863-1954), Septima Poinsette Clark(1898-1987), Kathleen Cleaver(1945-), Myrlie Evers-Williams(1963-), Dorothy Height(1912-2010), Charlayne Hunter-Gault(1942-), Barbara Jordan(1936-1996), Rosa Parks(1913-2005), Coretta Scott-King(1927-2006), Betty Shabazz(1936-1997) and Frances Ellen Watkins Harper(1825-1911).
The exhibit tells the stories of twenty extraordinary black women pioneers who've devoted their lives to the struggle for civil rights in America.
It opens on Saturday, Feb. 4th and run through April 22nd at The Shabazz Center in New York.
